It is also used to prevent hepatic coma. •Active ingredient: rifaximin 550mg •Indication: -Treatment of travelers’ diarrhea -Reduction in risk of overt hepatic encephalopathy (HE) recurrence in adults (1.2) -Treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea. • The dose is determined by the physician and ranges from 550 every 8 or 12 hours. • it can be taken with or without meals.
